The Room

Hello,

Well it has been some time since the last post, but I've been busy.

I've finished the plastering and prep work.

I've painted.

I've hung net curtains.

I've painted a desk.

I've searched high and low at the hardware store for the right type of fittings for a wrought Iron head board...

AND

We now have new shelves in the hot water cupboard

Gib Stopping!

Gib stopping is not on my list on the most exciting things to do, but I am managing to pull it off.

I found this really helpful on YouTube Just wish I had done some research into how Mr C should put the Gib up in the first place. But he has done an amazing job.

This site was also helpful www.gib.co.nz

We have turned a Garage into two living spaces. The front room is going to be the teenagers NEW bedroom, the back room is the laundry / office / spare room.

Photo's to come.

Looking around....

Wow, I've been spending lots of time looking at what others have done with their bloggs, fantastic stuff out there.

Today has been a tidy up day!

working on the principles of ;

Look at it, Love it, Keep it! - Hate it, Bag it!
I rarely hate anything that I own, but if I don't love it out it goes!

Easy peasy lemon squeezy!  yeah right! not so easy when I can see the potential in every thing I own.
I can spend hours looking and touching fabric dreaming up what I can make. But sometimes I get to caught up with the thinking, that I run out of time and never make anything - oh to have loads of time!

The bagged items that I'm not in love with all go to the local Opportunity shop or Op shop .
I have to be careful that I only do a stop and drop not, a drop and shop!

Titirangi Mouse

While looking for a blogg name I remembered a favourite book from my childhood
Tiberius the Titirangi Mouse

Well we live in Titirangi and we have a house and I'm kinda of like a mouse. I like to make our house a warm and pleasant place for my Partner and our four children - my three and his one (his last one of four)
Between us we have 7 boys!

I love all things old and shabby, but I'm also mindful that I am the only girl in the house. So I do have to take care to make sure it's not all girly and frilly.

It's a fine line and sometimes  and I'm guilty of pushing the boundaries, but Mr C, my partner, doesn't seem to mind too much. He is the love of my life!

We own a fairly plain Jane house. I bought this house when I was on my own and have owned it now for 6 years.

But since Mr C has moved in we have done lots of extras to the house which I hope to share with you.

Because we are on very low income I  have become very inventive in  reassigning  previously loved items into amazing new fashionable decor!
